We strive to increase the contributions of stakeholders to higher education outcomes, thereby elevating the international reputation and competitiveness of the Turkish higher education system. One of the most significant structural changes in the Turkish higher education system in recent years has been the establishment of the independent Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK) in administrative and financial terms. The Institutional External Evaluation Program conducted by YÖKAK since 2015, along with the authorization and recognition processes of independent institutional external evaluation and accreditation organizations, has significantly contributed to the maturation of quality assurance in higher education in our country since the 2000s.
Differentiation in interregional competition and establishing an innovative production structure based on the region's potential is emphasized in today's context. Regional development, increasing high value-added and innovation-oriented industrial production in the region, and improving the competitiveness of sectors can be achieved by enhancing collaboration between the public sector, private sector, and civil society organizations.
