Work Experience and Financial Support for Our University Students Through the ISKUR Youth Program

The "ISKUR Youth Program," organized by the Turkish Employment Agency (ISKUR) to provide workforce experience to university students, has been implemented at our university. The program aims to increase students' employability, equip them with essential knowledge and skills, and offer financial support.

To apply for the ISKUR Youth Program, applicants must be active students in a formal education program at a state university, have a household income lower than three times the minimum wage, and not have been employed with social security within the last month. Within the scope of this program, 1,470 student slots have been allocated to Aydin Adnan Menderes University, allowing students to gain workforce experience while receiving financial support.

The program duration is a maximum of 10 months, with participants benefiting for a total of 140 actual workdays. The first phase will take place from March 3 to June 30. During this period, students will receive support in workforce experience, financial assistance, individual counseling, financial literacy, resume preparation, and interview techniques. The program offers flexible working hours of up to three days per week, allowing students to balance their studies while gaining real-world professional exposure and making a strong start to their careers.

Our University’s Rector, Prof. Dr. Bulent Kent, emphasized that this program is a significant opportunity for students, stating:

"The ISKUR Youth Program is an important initiative that will help our students enter the labor market with stronger skills. Such projects, which support both academic and professional development, are highly valuable for achieving our university’s goals. We are delighted to provide our students with these opportunities, and we believe this program will lay a solid foundation for their future."

Students participating in the ISKUR Youth Program will have the opportunity to work in sustainable campus activities, infrastructure and maintenance projects, social and cultural events, and academic and administrative support roles. Participants will receive 1,083 TL per working day, and General Health Insurance (GSS) and occupational accident and disease insurance premiums will be covered.

Applications for the program will be accepted from February 11-15, 2025, via www.iskur.gov.tr. Following the application period, a lottery draw will be held on February 20, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Ataturk Congress Center under notary supervision.
