Aydın Adnan Menderes University has signed employment-guaranteed education and employment protocols with Orge Group Inc., Aydın Chamber of Industry, Aydın Carpenters and Timber Merchants Chamber, and ASTAŞ Steel Door Industry and Trade Inc., with the aim of strengthening university–industry collaboration, cultivating a qualified workforce, and supporting students’ professional development.
Within the scope of the Interior Design Department, which will be activated at Aydın Vocational School and begin admitting students, the signed protocols aim to support students’ educational processes and ensure the employment of graduates. Accordingly, a minimum of forty graduates (20+20) will be employed by Orge Group Inc. and the Aydın Chamber of Industry, while at least twenty graduates (10+10) will be employed by ASTAŞ Steel Door Industry and Trade Inc. and the Aydın Carpenters and Timber Merchants Chamber.
The protocols include providing internship and workplace-based practical training opportunities in furniture production and interior design, conducting joint curriculum development studies, implementing in-service training activities, and collaborating on research and development projects. Through these initiatives, it is aimed to enable students to engage with the industry at an early stage, gain hands-on experience, and enhance their employability after graduation.
Within the framework of the cooperation, career days, field visits, training workshops, and seminars will also be organized to help students gain sectoral knowledge and experience. Additionally, in-service training and professional development activities will be carried out for the personnel of the partner institutions with contributions from the University’s academic staff.
The cooperation further envisages the development of joint R&D projects supported by TÜBİTAK and similar institutions, the preparation of academic publications, and collaboration in community service practices. Through these protocols, it is aimed to strengthen university–industry interaction and contribute to regional development.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, ADU Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Kent emphasized the importance of university–sector collaboration, stating:
“Universities are not only institutions that produce knowledge, but also institutions that integrate that knowledge with industry and society. The protocols we have signed will make significant contributions to enhancing our students’ professional competencies, enabling them to engage with the sector at an earlier stage, and strengthening their employment opportunities after graduation. Through internships, applied training, and joint R&D studies in furniture production and interior design, we aim both to improve the quality of our education and to contribute to regional development. I wish this cooperation to be beneficial for all parties.”
