The Project entitled 124M089 “Public Health and Earthquake Engineering (HASDEM): Reducing Earthquake-Related Physical and Social Risks and Building Urban Resilience for Türkiye” where Prof. Dr. Didem Evci Kiraz from the Faculty of Medicine, Department of Public Health of ADU, is involved as a researcher, was entitled to be supported within the scope of ‘1001- Scientific and Technological Research Projects Support Program - Special Calls’ opened for application by TÜBİTAK.

Prof. Dr. Didem Evci Kiraz will contribute to the work packages named “Development of Data Collection Tools (Survey and Sample Design)”, “Human and Built Environment Interaction in Disasters: Earthquake Engineering for Public Health”, ”Identifying Real Public Health Risk in terms of Safe and Healthy Settlements: Expert Pooling and Expert Interviews”, ”Building Settlements Resilient to Future Urban Health Emergencies: Community and Decision Maker Interviews” and ‘Development of HASDEM Policy Document’ in the Project coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elif Okşan Çalıkoğlu from the Public Health Department of the Faculty of Medcine of Gaziantep University.

In the project, which aims to create healthy, safe and resilient neighborhoods and cities, Ayşen Özmen, a graduate student of our University's Interdisciplinary Environmental Health Department, will continue to take part in the project with her work titled “Resilient Living Environments”, which she started during her education. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yasemin Didem Aktaş, Kökcan Dönmez, Prof. Dr. Emily So, Dr. Didem Evci Kiraz, Prof. Dr. Pinar Okyay, Assoc. Dr. Elif Okşan Çalıkoğlu, Prof. Dr. Cassidy Johnson, Ayşen Özmen Kervan and Dr. Fatma Sevil Malcıoğlu are also taking part in the project.
