Support for the TÜBİTAK COST R&D Project in Partnership with ÇAYKUR

Managed by our university; The R&D project, which also includes researchers from Ege University, Gaziantep University and the General Directorate of Tea Enterprises (ÇAYKUR), has been awarded funding by TÜBİTAK.

The project team, managed by Prof. Dr. Fatih Mehmet Yılmaz- a faculty member in the Department of Food Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering and the Rector Advisor, who is also a member of the COST FoodWaStop international action- includes Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aslı Zungur Bastıoğlu from our University’s Department of Food Engineering, Dr. Kübra Gençdağ Şensoy, an Assistant Professor at Köşk Vocational School, and doctoral students Kardelen Demirci and Beyzanur Bayraktar serve as researchers.

The project, which will be carried out in cooperation with the university and the public, aims to develop innovative black tea packaging that is recyclable and degradable in nature and to reveal the effect of the developed packaging on the physicochemical and aromatic properties of tea. The project aims to contribute to R&D efforts focused on developing sustainable and innovative packaging solutions.
