Rector, Prof. Dr. Osman Selçuk Aldemir gave explanations of the ADÜ’s new period
Rector, Prof. Dr. Osman Selçuk Aldemir appeared as a guest on the program titled ‘Baş Başa’ broadcast on TV’DEN Channel, emceed by Journalist Emin Aydın on February 22, 2019. Prof. Dr. Osman Selcuk Aldemir gave a speech about the mission undertaken by Aydın Adnan Menderes University in its new period and emphasized that they gave importance to the case of public integrated university.
Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Selçuk Aldemir stated that they would continue their missions by breaking the status quo with the perception of ‘New Turkey’ based on public awareness and drawn its strength from the public and said “ADÜ’s new period is the period of accompaniment. This is a change of mind. We would like to carry out projects that are compatible with the new vision and new beginning. ADU exists thanks to the people of Aydın and I exist today in the ADU thanks to the existence of people of Aydın. We’ll make peace with our people and, the citizens will see that the ADU values them.”
“We are making merit-based assignments”
Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Selcuk Aldemir expressed that he considered the public service as a kind of service for human rights and said that the important thing was to act with a sense of responsibility and to make the best of it rather than being appointed as Rector. Prof. Dr. Osman Selçuk Aldemir emphasized that he is making merit-based appointments with this sensitivity and stated that they will establish a scientific structure by providing the environment of trust and peace under the roof of the ADU. Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Selçuk Aldemir said “In Aydın Adnan Menderes University which is composed of its all staff and students, we aim to educate young people who love their country, nation and government, who are devoted to their religion, who are the owner of national values, who are lettered and researchers in order to achieve the strategic goals of the Republic of Turkey.”
Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Selçuk Aldemir emphasized that the age we are in is the information age and stated that the universities are responsible for producing, using and spreading knowledge on a community platform and said “All kinds of intercountry competition in the global arena is realized through the information produced in the universities. We must have the same responsibility. The path to the economic, cultural, social and political developments of a strong country lies through our libraries, classes and laboratories.
“We aim to make ADU the most prestigious university of the Aegean”
Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Selçuk Aldemir stated that they aim to make the ADU the most prestigious university among universities of the Aegean with the support of the town people in Aydın and said “You will see how alive and strong we are. We'll bring our community a perspective. ADU will come to the fore with its projects and R&D investments. In addition to the technoparks seen as science centers, we’ll create socioparks which will provide arts and sports activities. We’ll offer supportive environments for our university. Our university will be a pioneer in regional development while improving its quality.”
Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Selçuk Aldemir stated that he considered Aydın Adnan Menderes University as a rough diamond mine with its favourable climate and geographical area and said “It’s our duty to serve the land that provides us our water, food and more.” and, emphasized that he was aware of the responsibility he bears and they would make all the efforts necessary for the development of the Aydın province and Aydın Adnan Menderes University.”
