Dr. Fatih Ersan, instructor at the Faculty of Science and Letters, Department of Physics, has strengthened his success with the publication he made in Advanced Materials Journal, one of the prestigious journals of the science world, after the "Serhat Özyar Young Scientist of the Year" award he got in 2018.
Discovering that two-dimensional lead halide perovskite ((RNH3) 2 (CH3NH3) n – 1PbnX3n + 1 (n = 1,2)) showed unusual structural phase transitions at certain pressure values with the effect of high external pressure applied as result of collaboration with faculty members at the University of Maryland Baltimore County and Arizona State University in the United States, Dr. Ersan stated "This study provides a unique perspective on pressure-induced changes, especially for semiconductor technology, and allows to understand these highly non-isotropic layered organic perovskite materials and use them outside of solar applications under unusual conditions.".
Dr. Ersan stated that the publication of this study as “Communication” in the journal “Advanced Materials”, which has an impact factor of 25,809 and is one of the most respected journals in the world, will bring the science of physics back to the agenda in recent years, and will contribute positively to the image of ADU.
