A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the Faculty of Agriculture of ADU and the US Grains Council on June 27, 2024.
The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Bülent Kent, Rector of our University, Ramy Hadj Taieb, Director of Europe, Middle East and Africa of the US Grains Council, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Sürmen, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Kubilay Karabina, Acting Agriculture Specialist of the US Embassy in Ankara, İbrahim Sırtoğlu, Turkey Advisor of the US Grains Council, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şükrü Yıldırım, President of the Aquaculture Association and Prof. Dr. Deniz Çoban from the Department of Aquaculture Engineering on behalf of the project team.
Emphasizing that international projects will strengthen ADU and the Faculty of Agriculture, Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Kent wished the protocol to be beneficial for the parties.
Faculty of Agriculture’s Acting Dean Prof. Dr. Mustafa Sürmen stated that they are ready to help in all kinds of issues as the Faculty to support the study and wished the protocol to be auspicious.
With the Memorandum of Understanding covering the period September 2024-September 2025, the Faculty of Agriculture will become a Regional Aquaculture Training Center as a training facility where fish nutritionists, feed and aquaculture producers from Europe, the Middle East and Africa will participate.
Intensive and comprehensive training programs and applications to improve fish feed production planned to be carried out within the scope of the training program will be carried out by Prof. Dr. Deniz Çoban and his research team from the Department of Aquaculture Engineering of the Faculty of Agriculture ADU. According to the signed Memorandum of Understanding, various scientific research and training activities will be carried out.
