On the occasion of 18 March Çanakkale Victory and Martyrs' Remembrance Day, a commemorative ceremony was held under the auspices of Aydın Governor Yakup Canbolat. The ceremony was attended by our University Rector, Prof. Dr. Bülent Kent, alongside members of the protocol, representatives of non-governmental organizations, political party officials, and citizens.
During the ceremony, wreaths were laid at the Tellidede Cemetery Martyrs' Memorial by the Aydın Governorship, Garrison Command, Aydın Metropolitan Municipality, the Aydın Association for Solidarity with Martyrs’ Families and Veterans, and the Aydın Association for Assistance to Martyrs’ Families and Disabled Veterans.
Following the wreath-laying, the ceremony continued with a Moment of Silence, a ceremonial gun salute, and the Turkish National Anthem. Governor Yakup Canbolat signed the Martyrs' Memorial Book, and a prayer was recited for the martyrs by the Provincial Mufti. The program proceeded with a visit to the Kemer Cemetery Martyrs’ Memorial, where protocol members placed flowers on the graves of the fallen. Gratitude visits were also made to the Yedieylül Martyrs' Monument and the Çanakkale Martyrs' Memorial.
The commemorations concluded with an oratorio performance titled “Forevermore”, organized by the Aydın Provincial Directorate of National Education and held at our University’s Atatürk Congress Center, İsa Bey Hall.
The oratorio, which depicted the epic of Çanakkale, was attended by Governor Yakup Canbolat, our Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Kent, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Cemal İyem, Prof. Dr. Erkan Salan, and Prof. Dr. Cengiz Özarslan, Acting Secretary General Prof. Dr. Bertan Akyol, Aydın Provincial Director of National Education Süleyman Ekici, protocol members, representatives of civil society organizations, political party officials, students, their families, and members of the public.
