The book titled "A Brave and Innovative Political Treatise in the Ottoman State: Measures for State and Military Order - Canikli Ali Pasha (1720-1785)" by Dr. Lecturer Uğur Tatlısumak from the Department of History, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of our University, has taken its place on the shelves.
Dr. Lecturer Tatlısumak emphasized the significance of his book with the following words:
“The treatise written in the style of a political treatise by Vizier Canikli Ali Pasha, which forms the subject of the book, was started in 1774 and completed in 1776 before being presented to Sultan Abdul Hamid I. This treatise, which narrates the socio-economic and political conditions of that period from a first-person perspective, is one of the most important source works. With this study, the treatise of Canikli Ali Pasha has been evaluated in terms of political philosophy and presented for the benefit of Turkish statesmen and the Turkish academic community.”
