Bozdoğan District Governor Adem Can, Bozdoğan Mayor Ufuk Altıntaş, Bozdoğan Vocational School Director Assoc. Dr. Süleyman Aypak, members of the protocol and the people of Bozdoğan attended the opening.
In his opening speech, Director of the School Assoc. Dr. Süleyman Aypak said “The elderly deserve respect and attention for their experiences and knowledge. Old age is one of the periods when people need each other the most. We should not forget and neglect the elderly in the hustle and bustle of life.”. He also emphasized that the answer to the question “What do you think happiness is?” given by the majority of elderly in interviews in home visits to the elderly people in home visits was “It’s my children and grandchildren.”
80 photographs were exhibited in the photography exhibition by the students of Bozdoğan Vocational School, which they took after the home visits to the elderly living in Bozdoğan. A video including the questions “What is happiness?” and “If you could give advice to your younger self, what would it be?” was also shown.
Bozdoğan District Governor Adem Can thanked the students from Bozdoğan Vocational School for their responsible behaviours and said “This meaningful work for our esteemed elders should be kept as a memory.”
The exhibition will also be held in Atatürk Congress Center Foyer area on 2-3 May 2019 as part of the 24th Spring Festival of the university.
