Lion Heart (Sea Hero) was the winner of the race in which 7 purebred English horses participated in the fourth race of the programme, which was organized on behalf of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of our university. The 5-year-old purebred bay Lion Heart, whose owner is Gizem Burçlu Uzun, breeder is Yavuz Sarıkaya, trainer is Serdar Yılmaz, has won his third consecutive win at the helm of his jockey Mehmet Kaya.
In the race that took place over a distance of 1400 meters on the grass track, My Royal Sun (Royal Abjar - Popcorn / Bosphorus) took second place, Oradinario (Unaccounted For - Karatutkum / Bin Ajwaad) was third and Bay Jak (Pressing - Sarıçal / Bin Ajwaad) was fourth. Lion Heart’s finishing time was recorded as 1.22.76 in the race the first prize of which is 53 thousand TL.
Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Prof. Dr. Ergün Ömer Göksoy, Secretary General, Baki Aslantaş, Vice Dean of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Prof. Dr. Hayrettin Çetin, Aydin Chamber of Veterinarians President, Veterinarian Cemil Sahin, Principal Member of the Jockey Club of Turkey, Zekeriya Aydın and Manager of İzmir Hippodrome, Cüneyt Ertan participated in the trophy ceremony in the VIP stand.
The Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Prof. Dr. Ergün Ömer Göksoy presented the trophy to Serdar Yılmaz, the trainer of the winning horse at the ceremony held after the race.
