Innovative Project for Treatment of Breast Cancer with the Support of TUSEB Deserved to be Supported

The project titled “New Generation Silicon Phthalocyanine Based Sono-Photodynamic Therapeutic Product Development for Breast Cancer Treatment: In Vitro, In Vivo and Transcriptomic Level Evaluation” led by our University Faculty of Medicine of Lecturer Assoc. Dr. Umut Kerem, deserved to be supported within the scope of the 2026-B1-01 Project Call managed by the Turkish Health Institutes (TUSEB).

Within the scope of the project will be supported with a total budget of 2.000.000 TL, while it is aimed to develop a new generation sono-photodynamic therapeutic product for breast cancer treatment, the efficiency of the product to be developed will be evaluated comprehensively at in vitro, in vivo and transcriptomic levels.

In the project, while our University Faculty of Medicine Department of Biophysics Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Mehmet Dinçer Bilgin and Department of Histology and Embryology Faculty Member Dr. Lec. Gökçen Gökçe Tepeli served as a research assistant, Sakarya University of Applied Sciences Chemistry Department Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Emre Güzel is also in the research team. Also, Ege University Faculty of Medicine Department of Medical Biology Faculty Member Assoc. Dr. Bakiye Göker Bağca will contribute as a advisor; Ayşegül Türkkol will serve as a postdoctoral scholar in the project.
