European Union Support for Our Faculty Member’s Project

The project titled “SPORTALK: Sports Communication and Fair Play Dialogue,” managed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pero Duygu Dumangöz, a faculty member of the Department of Sports Management at our university’s Faculty of Sports Sciences, has been awarded a grant of 15,680 euros within the scope of Erasmus+ Key Action 1 – Learning Mobility of Individuals, Staff Mobility in the Field of Sports 2026, 1^st Round (R1).

Within the scope of SPORTALK, which addresses sports communication and a culture of fair play through an international learning experience, participants will have the opportunity to examine best practices in Europe firsthand and gain professional experience. The mobility activities will take place in Madrid, Spain, hosted by the Spanish Triathlon Federation.

With its institutional experience in the areas of multi-sport structures, athlete and coach development, organizational communication, and fair play, the Spanish Triathlon Federation will offer participants the opportunity to observe the communication, ethical values and intercultural interaction dimensions of sports in practice.

It is planned that the knowledge and experiences gained as a result of the activities to be held in Madrid will be transferred to sports institutions and personnel in Türkiye with the cooperation of our University and other stakeholders. Thus, it is aimed to strengthen the sharing of knowledge and experience regarding the adaptation of successful practices from Europe to sports environments in Turkey.

The study, conducted with a focus on sports communication, fair play, and professional development, brings together academics from different universities and professionals working in the field of sports.

Our university is represented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pero Duygu Dumangöz, Prof. Dr. Kürşat Karacabey, and Buket Pelin Uzun, a master’s student and coach in the Department of Sports Management Sciences.
