Our university's School of Foreign Languages hosted an accreditation consultancy visit conducted by Eaquals on January 16-17, 2025. Eaquals, a leading organization promoting quality in modern language education across Europe, conducts visits to candidate institutions to ensure and enhance the maintenance of educational quality standards.
During the visit, the Eaquals representative conducted an on-site examination of the academic and administrative staff, students, and physical facilities of the School of Foreign Languages. Additionally, the representative gathered information on the school's educational programs, teaching methodologies, student support services, and quality assurance systems.
The Eaquals representative stated that the overall status of the School of Foreign Languages was positive. However, the final accreditation audit will take place after the quality assurance system implemented in educational and administrative processes has been in effect for at least one academic term. The accreditation process will be finalized based on the decision following this audit. Institutions accredited by Eaquals undergo an interim audit after two years and a comprehensive re-evaluation after four years. This cyclical quality assurance system aims to promote continuous institutional improvement.
Prof. Dr. Bertan Akyol, Acting Secretary-General of our university and Director of the School of Foreign Languages, stated that the accreditation process began in May 2023. He emphasized that this consultancy visit was a crucial step in reviewing the school's current status before the main accreditation audit. Prof. Dr. Akyol also noted that the constructive feedback provided by the Eaquals representative would help further elevate the quality standards of the school.
