Sacred Relics Digital Photography Exhibition by Our University's Faculty of Theology and İSMAM: A Spiritual Journey During Ramadan

Organized by Aydın Adnan Menderes University's Faculty of Theology and the Center for Islamic Civilization Studies (İSMAM), the "Sacred Relics Digital Photography Exhibition" will accompany the spiritual atmosphere of Ramadan from March 1 to March 30, 2025. The exhibition will be accessible via the Faculty of Theology and İSMAM's social media and official websites, offering a unique convergence of history, art, and spirituality.

The project was coordinated by Dr. Yakup Kaya (Vice Dean of the Faculty of Theology), Dr. İrfan Yiğit (Head of the Department of Islamic History and Arts), and Dr. Ömer Faruk Yiğiterol (Director of İSMAM). Graphic design and layout were crafted by Münevver Aslan, a graduate student from ODÜ-SBE Graphic Design Department.

Planned to resonate with the serenity and blessings of Ramadan, this digital exhibition aims to showcase the most treasured relics of Islamic cultural heritage. Sacred artifacts belonging to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and prominent Islamic figures will be presented in digital format. Highlights include:

  • Hırka-i Saadet (Blessed Mantle of Prophet Muhammad)
  • Sancak-ı Şerif (Sacred Standard)
  • Na’leyn-i Saadet (Sacred Sandals)
  • Sakal-ı Şerif (Sacred Beard)
  • Kadeh-i Şerif (Sacred Cup)
  • Kadem-i Şerif (Sacred Footprint)
  • Qur'an of Caliph Uthman (r.a.) read during his martyrdom
  • The Prophet’s (PBUH) Bow

In addition, sacred relics belonging to other prophets will be featured, such as:

  • The Pot of Prophet Abraham (A.S.)
  • The Staff of Prophet Moses (A.S.)
  • The Turban of Prophet Joseph (A.S.)

Artifacts from the Ahl al-Bayt will also be on display, including:

  • The Garment of Fatimah (R.A.)
  • The Mantle of Hussain (R.A.)
  • Soil from Karbala

The exhibition will be open throughout Ramadan, offering a profound experience that connects visitors to both historical and spiritual dimensions of Islam. It serves as a unique opportunity for those wishing to embark on a meaningful journey into the heritage of the Islamic world.
