As part of the March 12 Commemoration of the Acceptance of the Turkish National Anthem and Mehmet Akif Ersoy Memorial Day, a meaningful program was organized by the Aydın Provincial Directorate of National Education and hosted by our university at the Aydın Bey Hall of the Atatürk Congress Center.
The program was attended by Aydın Governor Yakup Canbolat, Aydın Metropolitan Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu, our University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal İyem, Acting Secretary General Prof. Dr. Bertan Akyol, members of the provincial protocol, teachers, and students.
The event began with Governor Yakup Canbolat and the protocol delegation touring the themed art exhibition titled “The National Anthem and Mehmet Akif Ersoy,” displayed at the entrance of the hall. The program continued with a moment of silence and the recitation of the Turkish National Anthem.
Following the reading of a heartfelt letter by the winner of the letter-writing contest organized across the province by the Directorate of National Education, Deputy Provincial Director of National Education Gülfidan Kendirlioğlu delivered a speech to the audience. After her address, awards were presented—by Governor Yakup Canbolat himself—to the students who placed first in the painting and letter-writing competitions.
The program concluded with a touching performance prepared by the teachers and students of Emel-Mustafa Uşaklı Anatolian High School, marking the end of the March 12 Commemoration of the Acceptance of the National Anthem and the Memorial Day for Mehmet Akif Ersoy.
