Clinical Orientation Program Held at the Faculty of Nursing

The "Clinical Orientation Program" was organized by our University's Faculty of Nursing on February 12, 2025, at the Isa Bey Hall of Ataturk Congress Center for first-year students who will be starting clinical practice for the first time in the 2024-2025 spring semester.

The program was attended by Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Prof. Dr. Hilmiye Aksu; Director of Aydin Vocational School of Health Services, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emel Tugrul; Vice Dean, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yildiz Denat; academic and administrative staff of the faculty; Nursing Services Director and Deputy Directors of our University Hospital; and first-year students of the Faculty of Nursing.

The event began with opening speeches by Prof. Dr. Hilmiye Aksu, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, and Gulsun Pekcetin, Nursing Services Director of our University Hospital. In the first session, the following presentations were delivered:

• "Basic Principles and Practices of Clinical Teaching and Hospital Introduction" by Dr. Lecturer Hatice Yildiz from the Department of Pediatric Health and Disease Nursing,
• "Prevention of Hospital Infections and Medical Waste Management" by Gulsun Ozcelik, Infection Control Committee Nurse of our University Hospital,
• "Patient Safety" by Dilek Acar, Training Nurse of our University Hospital.

Following the presentations, students' questions were addressed.

In the second session, a "Physical Environment Orientation of Our University Hospital" was conducted for students under the coordination of Dr. Lecturer Muazzez Sahbaz from the Department of Fundamentals of Nursing.
