Aydın Adnan Menderes University (ADÜ) has carried out yet another significant academic visit in line with its internationalization vision. A delegation led by our Rector, Prof. Dr. Bülent Kent, visited Panevezio Kolegija / State Higher Education Institution, a well-respected higher education institution located in northern Lithuania, known for its education in the field of applied sciences.
The delegation also included Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal İyem, Acting Secretary General Prof. Dr. Bertan Akyol, and ADÜ Technopark General Manager Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Akkaya. The main objective of this visit was determined as further deepening the existing academic cooperation between the two universities, increasing student and staff mobility, developing joint research projects, and ensuring the sustainability of this collaboration.
Panevezio Kolegija stands out as one of Lithuania’s leading universities of applied sciences, offering education across various disciplines such as health sciences, engineering, business, and social sciences. With its innovative infrastructure and strong industry connections, the university provides students with a high-quality learning environment that combines theoretical knowledge with practical experience. The institution also attracts attention through its participation in Erasmus+ mobility programs.
The mobility activities carried out between our university and Panevezio Kolegija within the scope of the Erasmus+ Program have significantly contributed to the development of academic and cultural relations between the two institutions. In this context, a total of 10 academic staff members and 6 students from our university participated in mobility activities at Panevezio Kolegija in Lithuania — with 3 students in the 2013-2014 academic year, 9 academic staff and 1 student in 2014-2015, and 1 academic staff and 2 students in 2017-2018.
On the other hand, from Panevezio Kolegija to our university, 8 students and 4 academic staff members arrived in the 2012-2013 academic year, 1 student in 2013-2014, 2 students in 2014-2015, 1 academic staff member in 2018-2019, and 4 students in the 2021-2022 academic year — totaling 5 academic staff members and 15 students.
These reciprocal mobility activities, supported by the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ Program, contribute to the internationalization goals of both institutions while promoting intercultural academic interaction.
This visit, conducted by the delegation from our university, not only serves to strengthen academic ties but also enhances the global visibility of Aydın Adnan Menderes University.
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Bülent Kent, stated:
“Internationalization stands out as one of the strategic goals of our university. In this regard, the activities we carry out to increase student and academic staff mobility, encourage joint scientific production, and deepen intercultural academic interaction significantly contribute to our institutional development. Our collaboration with Panevezio Kolegija has so far hosted many successful mobility activities. In the coming period, we aim to further advance these relations and accelerate joint scientific production processes.”
