The award ceremony of the “Accessible and Connected Türkiye 2053 Interuniversity R&D Idea Competition,” organized by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, Directorate General for Communications and Information Systems (UDHAM), was held in Istanbul. In the competition, where a total of 4,922,800 TL in prizes was distributed, students from Aydın Adnan Menderes University (ADU) Faculty of Engineering achieved remarkable success.
Out of 315 students and 200 projects submitted from 65 universities, 46 projects and 82 students were selected for awards following the evaluations.
Our first-year Mechanical Engineering student, Kerim Can Balkan, won second place with his project titled “Quartz-Reinforced Smart Composite Body,” while our second-year Electrical and Electronics Engineering student, Ömer Faruk Sümer, earned third place with his project “Siper-Space.”
Prof. Dr. Selman Sağlam, Rector’s Advisor and faculty member of the Faculty of Engineering, represented our university at the ceremony. The students received their awards from Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Osman Boyraz, together with Prof. Dr. Sağlam.
