As part of its strategic steps toward becoming a research university, Aydın Adnan Menderes University (ADU) participated in one of Europe’s most prestigious higher education events: the European Association for International Education (EAIE) 2025 Conference and Exhibition.
Held in Gothenburg, Sweden, from September 9–12, 2025, the event brought together academics, administrators, and higher education institutions from around the globe.
Representing our university, Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Kent, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal İyem, and Acting Secretary General Prof. Dr. Bertan Akyol took part in the event, where ADU’s internationalization vision and academic collaboration potential were introduced on a global scale. Throughout the event, the ADU stand attracted significant interest, particularly from visitors coming from European and Asian countries.
During the conference, ADU conducted numerous bilateral meetings on topics such as international student admissions, exchange programs, bilateral agreements, joint research projects, and academic mobility. The university also played an active role in panel discussions focused on sustainability, R&D, quality assurance in higher education, and global partnerships. These interactions enhanced ADU’s visibility in the European higher education area and laid the groundwork for future international academic projects.
Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Kent emphasized ADU’s internationalization goals, stating:
“Global platforms such as EAIE are of great importance not only for introducing our university but also for showcasing the academic vision of Aydın and our country to the world. As we work to strengthen our identity as a research university, we aim to broaden the horizons of our students and academics through international collaborations. ADU will continue to be a strong part of the global academic network, educating qualified individuals who will shape the knowledge society of the future.”
By identifying internationalization as a strategic priority in line with its research university vision, ADU remains committed to contributing to scientific production both regionally and globally.
