ADU Participated in Global Zero Waste Forum 2026

Aydın Adnan Menderes University (ADU) followed activities in the field of sustainability, social contribution and international collaboration on a global scale by participating in Global Zero Waste Forum 2026 which was held in Istanbul between 5-7 June 2026.

The forum which was held with “COP31 The Road to Antalya” brought together presidents, ministers, international organization representatives, mayors, academicians, private sector representatives and non-governmental organizations on the same platform. While our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Honorary President of Zero Waste Foundation Emine Erdoğan and President of Zero Waste Foundation Samed Ağırbaş took part in the opening program of the forum sessions were held by ministers of many countries, public administrators, representatives of United Nations organizations, local governments, international financial institutions and policy makers for three days.

Within the scale of the Forum; many topics such as combatting climate change, circular economy, zero waste policies, sustainability growth, climate financing, green industry transformation, international standards, data and indicators, cities climate leadership, sustainability education, youth policies and COP31 preparations were discussed from different perspectives.

Sessions of ministers, global policy panels and multilateral collaboration meetings have made significant contributions to the sharing of countries’ current practices in the field of sustainability and to the improvement of new partnerships.

The ADU delegation had opportunity to examine the sustainability governance, data-based performance management, social contribution practices and the good practice examples for success in ranking systems. Also, meetings were held with universities, public institutions and international organization representatives from different countries and new collaboration and networking opportunities were evaluated.

The Global Zero Waste Forum 2026 stood out as a major platform where ADU closely follows the international sustainability agenda, develops new collaborations and strengthens the social contribution and sustainability vision in the light of global good practices.
