The panel titled “Women’s Issues in the World and in Türkiye from an Interdisciplinary Perspective”, organized by the Women's and Family Studies Application and Research Center of our University as part of March 8 International Women’s Day, was held on March 7, 2025, at the İsa Bey Hall of the Atatürk Congress Center.
The event, supported by KADEM Aydın and the Genç KADEM Student Community, was attended by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Erkan Salan, Aydın Provincial Mufti Hasan Güneş, Provincial Director of Family and Social Services Abdullah Kömürcüoğlu, KOSGEB Aydın Director Sadullah Dülger, AK Party Aydın Women’s Branch President Ebru Kayır, along with academics and students.
Following the opening speech delivered by Genç KADEM Community President Meryem Saygılı, a video prepared by KADEM Aydın titled "March 8 International Women’s Day" was screened.
The panel was moderated by Lecturer Dilek Akıcı from the Department of Child Care and Youth Services at Aydın Vocational School, and featured the following speakers:
Prof. Dr. Berfin Kart Tepe from the Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences
Prof. Dr. Hatice Güneş from the Department of Social Sciences and Turkish Language Education, Faculty of Education
Dr. Lecturer Hicabi Arslan from the Department of Journalism, Faculty of Communication
The panel provided an in-depth analysis of the challenges faced by women from various disciplinary perspectives. Topics discussed included social, cultural, and economic difficulties, gender inequality, violence, inequities in education, and the role of women in the workforce.
The event concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to the speakers.
